Overview

This special Milky Way Photography Workshop is held at the spectacular Poachers Pantry starry location just outside of Canberra.

Come and enjoy their famous smoked food while learning how to photograph the Milky Way with award winning photographer Ari Rex.

This workshop is suited best to those that are just starting to learn about night photography. You will enjoy meeting other like minded photographers while being treated to tasty local foods.

Delicious food prepared in-house* will be served initially and then we will proceed with the theory session. We will spent the necessary time showing some important functions of your camera with detailed feedback and assistance. Ari’s aim is to help you become comfortable using your camera’s manual settings during the night.

The second part of the workshop will be conducted outside by the private lake. As the sky becomes dark, we will put what we have learnt into practice - photographing the majestic Milky Way as it sets over the horizon. You will learn to become a better photographer and Ari will make sure you return home with a set of beautiful images.

Ari Rex is regarded as a leading professional in his field, he has won the Nature Photographer of the Year 2020 at IPA (International Photography Awards), 1st Place - Australian Professional Photography Awards SLA "Manmade" Category  and 1st Place in Astrophotography at IPA in 2019.

Testimonials

" Yesterday (16 May 2018), I along with three other interested persons attended the workshop. When I met Ari Rex, I realised that he is a down-to-earth person with ample of practical experience in astrophotography. He is extremely friendly and very keen to teach his skills to the attendees. He started from the very basics of the camera set ups, useful apps and then drove us to the wonderful workshop site at the Namadgi National Park. It was all done in a very friendly manner but with a professional touch. "
