Moon Photography Workshop

Learn how to capture the stunning beauty of the Moon and elevate your photography skills with the expert guidance of award-winning photographer Ari Rex.

 

Overview

Ari has an extensive knowledge on photographing the Moon, on this workshop he has put together a thoughtful program to teach you the best methods for photographing the Moon in various situations, including how and when is the best time to plan and shoot Supermoons, Moon eclipses and other beautiful phases of the Moon which can ad interest to your picture.

Ari's Moon work has caught the attention of millions of people around the world. His images and photography tips have been published in several newspapers such as The Canberra Times, The Age, SMH and many others. He has been featured on radio and TV  interviews where he share tips and tricks about how to photograph the Moon, some of the stations include ABC Radio and CNN TV Albania.

This small group workshop (maximum 6 people) allows each participant to receive individual instructions from Ari throughout the workshop.

Participants will receive the location details in an email about a week before the workshop begins, this email will also confirm the going ahead or postponement of the workshop due to weather conditions.

What Is Covered?

  • How to plan/photograph stunning Moon landscape

  • How to focus pin sharp on the Moon

  • Focus stacking technique

  • Several composition techniques to create captivating images that stand out

  • How to adjust white balance and use correct settings to get high quality Moon shoots

  • How to photograph Moon timelapses, and "Holy Grail" sequences

  • Appropriate gear suggestions for Moon photography

  • Verbal post-processing tips (hands on post-processing is not included in this workshop, but it's available in private tuition that can be booked separately here).

What Will I Need?

  • Dslr or Mirrorless camera

  • Short zoom lens

  • Sturdy tripod

  • Long lens 250mm and above is recommended

 

No camera, no problem! Now you can hire a Moon camera kit for an extra $100, available during checkout.

Difficulty

 

We welcome all skill levels to our workshops.

We keep our group size small to ensure that each participant receives individualized attention from Ari. 

As far as physical difficulty is concerned, some moderate walking in a flat unpaved road might be required.

  • The fee for this workshop is $340 per participant

  • Previous participants are entitled to 10% discount applied directly during booking

  • This workshop will go ahead as scheduled. In the event of light rain, the workshop will be taught undercover

  • You will receive a confirmation email soon after you finish the pay process

  • Our workshops fill up quickly so we recommend you to secure your spot at your earliest convenience

  • Cancellations - you can cancel your workshop booking at anytime up to three weeks prior to the workshop day to receive a full refund*. Cancellations made within three weeks prior to the workshop will be liable for a 50% cancellation fee. Unfortunately refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the workshop.
