Overview

With guidance from award-winning photographer Ari Rex, you’ll learn everything from exposure blending and editing techniques to planning and capturing the Moon behind striking terrestrial subjects like towers, trees, and iconic landmarks. Ari has crafted a thoughtful, practical program drawing on his extensive experience photographing Supermoons, eclipses, and other dramatic lunar phases.

Ari's Moon work has caught the attention of millions of people around the world. His images and photography tips have been published in several newspapers such as The Canberra Times, The Age, SMH and many others. He has been featured on radio and TV  interviews where he share tips and tricks about how to photograph the Moon, some of the stations include ABC Radio and CNN TV Albania.

This is a small group workshop which allows each participant to receive individual instructions from Ari throughout the workshop.​​

  • How to precisely plan stunning Moon landscapes with foreground subjects

  • How to focus sharply on the Moon and balance depth of field

  • Focus stacking techniques for high-impact results

  • How to photograph both partial and full lunar eclipses

  • Composition strategies to create captivating, story-rich images

  • How to adjust white balance and fine-tune settings for high-quality Moon shots

  • Planning the exact alignment of the Moon with terrestrial subjects like towers, trees, and landmarks

  • Recommended gear and how to get the best out of what you already have

  • Hands-on post-processing techniques to bring out detail and mood in your Moon shots

📸 What Will I Need?

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera

  • Long lens (400–600mm range is highly recommended for close Moon shots)

  • Short zoom lens (for Moon with foreground compositions)

  • Sturdy tripod (highly recommended)

  • External wired or wireless remote trigger

  • Laptop (optional but recommended for the post-processing session)

  • Warm clothing, snacks, and a headlamp for night shooting comfort

Difficulty

 

We welcome all skill levels to our workshops.

We keep our group size small to ensure that each participant receives individualized attention from Ari. 

As far as physical difficulty is concerned, some moderate walking in a flat unpaved road might be required.

  • The fee for this workshop is $2700 per person on a twin shared room. The fee includes, tuition, accommodation, food, water and wood fire. 

  • 2 extra private rooms are available with queen bed to book for yourself or with the other half at a special couple rates.

  • You will receive a confirmation email soon after you finish the pay process

  • This workshop will proceed as scheduled, rain or shine. In the event of heavy clouds, rain, or storms, we’ll continue with the class indoors, covering all essential techniques, settings, and tips to ensure you're fully prepared for clear skies in the future.

  • Our workshops fill up quickly so we recommend you to secure your spot at your earliest convenience

  • The registration is not completed if the payment hasn't been made. If you have issues booking try another browser or contact us here

  • Few days before the workshop begins you will receive an email with workshop info and itinerary

  • Cancellations - you can cancel your workshop booking at anytime up to four weeks prior to the workshop day to receive a full refund (minus 10% admin fee). Cancellations made within three weeks prior to the workshop will be liable for a 50% cancellation fee. Unfortunately refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the workshop.
